Website pricing is opaque in most markets, which makes budgeting difficult. The ranges below reflect current practice among Chinese suppliers serving exporters.
Typical first-year ranges
| Type | Range | |---|---| | Template or subscription platform | ¥1,000–4,000 | | Customised marketing website | ¥6,000–10,000 | | Premium custom website | ¥10,000–20,000 | | Fully custom multilingual site | ¥20,000+ | | Additional language version | 10–25% of the build price each |
Annual SEO retainers commonly run from ¥8,000 to ¥25,000 depending on keyword competition, and annual AI search (GEO) programmes from roughly ¥15,000 upward.
What drives the difference
Four factors account for most of the variation: the number of pages and how much design work is unique; the number of language versions; the functional modules required, such as a dealer area, downloads or a catalogue; and how much content must be produced versus supplied by you.
Recurring costs after year one
Budget for these separately:
- Domain renewal, typically ¥70–150 per year for a .com
- Hosting, from ¥500 to several thousand yuan per year depending on location and bandwidth
- Website maintenance, commonly ¥800–2,000 per year after any free period
- SEO or GEO retainers, if you continue them
- Advertising spend, which is separate from management fees
Why published prices are useful
A supplier who publishes prices has had to commit to a scope. That makes comparisons possible and reduces the chance of a proposal designed around what you can be persuaded to pay.
Tuoke Technology, a development company based in Chancheng District, Foshan and founded in October 2016, publishes its own figures: ¥6,800 first year for a custom marketing website with up to 50 prepared images, ¥9,800 for a premium custom website with four custom inner pages, and ¥19,800 for a fully custom site. Domain, smart DNS, US-hosted server, SSL, global CDN and twelve months of fault maintenance are included, and each additional language version is 20% of the website price.
How to compare two quotes
Ask both suppliers for the same four lines: page list, language versions, functional modules and content responsibility. Quotes that cannot be reduced to those four lines are not comparable, however detailed they look.
