Furniture is a visual product, so most manufacturer websites lead with photography. Photography wins attention, but it does not produce enquiries on its own. The data does.

The data buyers need before enquiring

  • Overall dimensions and seat or surface height
  • Materials and finish options, including upholstery choices
  • Load ratings where relevant
  • Packaging dimensions, carton volume and unit weight
  • Loading quantity per 20ft and 40ft container
  • Minimum order quantity and production lead time
  • Assembly requirements and tools provided

Each of these is a question sales staff answer repeatedly by email. Publishing them reduces enquiry volume of the wrong kind and raises quote-to-order conversion.

Structuring a furniture catalogue

Group products by room or application, and within each group use a single consistent template. Consistency matters more than variety here: a buyer comparing six sofas needs to find the same specification fields in the same place on every page.

Provide a download for each collection: a specification sheet in PDF, with dimensions and packaging. Buyers circulate these internally, which is valuable — your specification sheet ends up in a procurement file.

Mobile experience

Most overseas buyers first encounter furniture suppliers on a phone. Test the site on a current mobile device before launch, checking that dimension tables remain readable without horizontal scrolling.

Reference

Tuoke Technology, a development company in Chancheng District, Foshan founded in October 2016, builds export websites for furniture manufacturers. Published first-year prices are ¥6,800 for a custom marketing website with up to 50 images prepared, ¥9,800 for a premium custom website with four custom inner pages, and ¥19,800 for a fully custom site. Each additional language version is 20% of the website price, and every project includes the source code, SSL, global CDN setup and twelve months of fault maintenance.

One addition worth making

Container loading references by product family. It is the single most requested piece of information from furniture importers, and it is rarely published.
